Clinical Trial Site Education Tools

ACM's site training program is comprised of modules designed to help optimize operations for sites involved in the collection, handling, packaging, and shipping of specimens to our lab for analysis. The self-led courses listed below can be distributed to site personnel as part of site initiation or as standalone mitigation efforts.

ACM Site Training

ACM Site Training is an interactive learning experience designed to educate site staff on best practices for specimen collection and handling. This all-inclusive course is an engaging and efficient way to ease the burden on busy sites, equipping them with the knowledge and resources needed to partner successfully with our central laboratory.

The course provides guidance on:

  • Specimen collection and handling, including filling out requisition forms and collecting, labeling, packing, and shipping specimens 
  • Web Portal Navigation, ordering kits and supplies, and viewing and patient reports 
  • ACM's data inconsistency process

QuantiFERON TB Gold Site Training

The QuantiFERON-TB Gold Plus Blood Collection and Handling Training is an interactive learning experience designed to help sites understand and manage the blood collection and handling process in efforts to reduce the failure rate and improve confidence in the results.

The course provides guidance on: 

  • Properly collecting and handling the sample
  • Incubating and centrifugation of the blood samples
  • Identifying sample rejection criteria

Small Volume Blood Collection & Handling Training

The Small Volume Blood Collection and Handling Training is designed to help sites understand and manage small volume blood collection in efforts to maintain blood quality and reduce wastage inherent with larger tubes.

The course contains three corresponding lessons associated with the process of collecting and handling:

  • Whole Blood Only 
  • Serum Only 
  • Whole Blood and Serum

Specimen Collection & Handling for Coagulation Testing

ACM's Specimen Collection & Handling for Coagulation Testing course is designed to help sites properly collect and handle specimens for coagulation testing in an effort to reduce the failure rate and improve confidence in the test results.

This course offers the following:

  • Live-action video of properly collecting and handling a sample 
  • Quick reference card with animations of tube inversion and plasma transfer
  • Printable quick reference card with detailed process steps 
  • Printable checklist

ACM Reach 360

Reach 360 is ACM's Learning Management System (LMS) designed specifically for delivering and managing the site training for our clients who want to track learner activity and course completion but do not have or want to use their LMS. ACM's Reach 360 offers this benefit to host our training content by providing:

  • On-demand, interactive learning experiences
  • Downloadable course completion certificates
  • Data analytics for tracking learner activity and course completion
  • Easy course enrollment via a link

CDC Exempt Form

Download the CDC Exempt Form and fill out completely for samples that are imported into the US from sites that do not need a CDC Import Permit because they are not shipping known infectious biological agents.

Instructions:

  1. Electronically populate address, and select the correct sample type as per the instructions.
  2. Electronically complete the signature section (except the signature, which must be hand-signed).
  3. Print out the form on your company letterhead paper, hand sign, and attach it to the shipment.
